ABOUT THIS Artwork:
When it comes to science, Australians are pragmatists or ‘lazy perfectionists’ to put it more generously.
If our work, as a doctor for example, requires knowing the names of key body parts, we will generally learn them.
Or at least remember the name of the website on which they and the handy diagrams can be found.
We carefully monitor the fat, sugar, salt and alcohol consumption of others, our spouses in particular.
And we only select lucky numbers which have a proven record of being lucky.
This piece recognises the fine and constant balance Australians maintain between intellectual rigor and doing the barest minimum to avoid a job dismissal and/or warranty claim and/or expensive law suit.
